Derek and John’s Epic Caper
Posted on June 1st, 2010 No commentsWe are a couple of middle aged guys from Fife in Scotland who in a moment of madness entered Cape Epic 2010. To remind us of the journey to the start line we started a blog. This is our story.

Easy rider
Posted on May 31st, 2010 No commentsI’m a weekend warrior! A bit of a fair weather rider, I don’t get out too much during the winter, especially as I play rugby on Saturdays. I enjoy riding XC mainly, but I don’t mind doing the bike park stuff to liven things up a little. I have taken part in one 35km race (placed 21st in my category) and also a 160km charity ride over 2 days.
I have also ridden two of Australia’s Rail Trails: The Lilydale to Warburton Rail Trail (my local trail) and the Great Southern Rail Trail down in Gippsland, Victoria.
My local riding area is Mt Evelyn, about 40km east of Melbourne.

We may be slow but at least we’re mo7s
Posted on May 31st, 2010 No commentsJust the average over-the-hiller who enjoys riding bikes in the woods, taking the occasional picture, and then blathering about the ride with friends. Not exactly Mark Twain but if you enjoy bikes you may find it entertaining. Give it a whirl, or not. Whatever.

road
Posted on May 30th, 2010 No commentsI rode the Bicycle Tour of Colorado in June, and the Copper Triangle and Colorado Rocky Mountain Bike Tour in August. My blog features pictures and accounts from those trips as well as a lot of the rides I did in preparation for those rides. I like to ride on trails around town and country roads around eastern Kansas, and I love to ride multi-day tours anywhere. I’ve done the Tour de Kota in South Dakota a couple times, and would like to add BAK, Border Raiders, CANDISC, BRAN, RAGBRAI, and Oklahoma Freewheel to my list. Eventually a multi-day tour in every state would be awesome! In the meantime, I like to write about being a cyclist, riding, planning to ride, and everything that goes with it.

VeloLoser, in which a steel-frame, Brooks saddle-riding cyclist documents his journey into the world of competitive cycling without a clue where to begin.

Mink on a Bike
Posted on May 28th, 2010 No commentsOut of school and in the prime of my youth, I’m giving my brain a rest and challenging my body. If Kili taught me anything, it’s that you REALLY can do anything. So here I am. Doing anything and everything…especially cycling.
Born and raised in Houston, Texas, I discovered road cycling exactly 1yr ago and I will be forever hooked. My obsession with the sport, my health and other ways to stay healthy have become a big part of my life and this blog is an outlet for my thoughts, events, and troubles. I’ve carried the nic-name Mink since I was 13, so it only seemed fitting to title my blog “Mink on a Bike”.
If you’ve ever felt like you didn’t have anyone to share in your cycling, running, snowboarding happiness’s and horror’s, then I want to be your friend! Check out my blog at http://minkonabike.blogspot.com!
